OHBA was founded in 1922 on the basis of the notion that it would strive to develop as a private enterprise, during an era when a majority of surveying work was performed under the direct control of government agencies.
Since inception, we have embraced our corporate philosophy, set forth as "we will contribute to the development of society by providing premium-quality services drawing on our outstanding technologies and extensive experience, while also living up to the expectations of our customers, shareholders and employees." We continue to this day providing consulting services associated with maintaining and improving social infrastructure both in Japan and overseas.

Meanwhile, roles that construction consultants must assume in this day and age are rapidly changing and becoming increasingly diverse as a result of shifts in society, the economy and natural environments, combined with developments such as unprecedented natural disasters.
Ever since its beginnings as a surveying firm, OHBA has managed to achieve ongoing growth as a result of giving thought to the role we are called upon to play in accordance with the times. While focusing on disaster reconstruction work in recent years, we have also been expanding the range of our services acting as a consultant for city planning at our core, thereby extending our fields of business to include areas such as land management work and other civil engineering management services, consulting on matters involving productive green area issues, and solar power generation projects.
In addition, we have been continually working to strengthen our management structure in areas such as compliance and corporate governance, ever since listing our shares on the Second Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange back in 1972. As a result, our shares were upgraded to the TSE's First Section last year.
Moreover, we are committed to seeking improvement on a daily basis, particularly given that we must achieve further growth and make changes that enable us to persist with our efforts geared to helping maintain and improve social infrastructure going forward.
